The Education Administration in the City of Stockholm is Sweden's largest municipal administration, with 16,000 employees.

We are now seeking a case officer for the compensation function at the central administration with the municipality's mission, focusing on the residents of Stockholm.

The Compensation and School Duty Unit is one of four units in the Department of Economy and Management and primarily handles issues related to the administration's mission as a municipality. The unit currently consists of over 30 employees and is led by a unit manager and a group manager.

We are looking for someone with solid experience in compensation management within central administration and the education sector, with particular expertise in issues related to the municipality's perspective.

Your role

As a compensation officer at the City of Stockholm's Education Administration, you play an important role in ensuring that the city's responsibility as a municipality is managed correctly and transparently. In this role, you will work with registrations, review, and calculate compensations and grants to other school authorities.

The work involves recurring monthly processes with fixed deadlines, where you delve into regulations, review reports, and perform analyses used for decisions and follow-ups. This is a job for you who likes order and clarity, is meticulous, and can create clarity in issues related to both finance and law.

You have solid experience in compensation management for other authorities within the education sector. With us, you will become part of our expert team in compensation issues and quickly step into the role with a strong municipal perspective.

Your skills and experience

Requirements:

  • At least 5–7 years of experience in qualified compensation management within the education sector, particularly related to the municipality's responsibilities and perspectives within the public sector.
  • Solid experience in compensation management, including inter-municipal compensation and grants to other school authorities.
  • Documented ability to independently manage complex compensation processes in a municipal context.
  • Good knowledge of the Education Act and other relevant regulations concerning compensation issues.
  • Good ability to work with data sets, including analysis, quality assurance, and delivery within given time frames.
  • Good economic understanding as well as numerical and analytical skills.
  • Economic education or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

Meritorious:

  • Several years of experience with compensation systems and economic models within the education sector.
  • Good understanding of state grant applications.
  • Good understanding of legal issues and authority exercise within the education or municipal sector.
